  i was on an official tour last week to another part of my country.

  on my way to the hotel, i noticed sign-board of jw kingdom hall.

  i thought i would attend sunday meeting as i knew no one would recognize me.. seeing “a new-comer” in the audience, public speaker adapted his material making it especially appealing to me.

  that a scientific world view that does not profoundly come to terms with the problem of conscious minds cannot claim the “pretension of completeness.

  The scientific world has never made that claim, nor will it ever. That claim is contrary to the essence and methods of science. You and a bunch of theistic apologist make that claim up.
  

  Science may have not learned yet everything about consciousness, but it's miles ahead of any sacred text ever written to explain everything else. Wishful thinking is what makes you embrace bad analogies

  JW's actually spend lots of money belonging to the cult, even before any donations. My family (3, I'm out o the deal) has to travel about 440 miles a year for conventions (2x 140 + 3x60). That's almost $300.00 of vehicle expenses according to IRS estimates. Then the additional expense for eating out. Another $300.00. That's $600.00 without lodging, which can add a substantial amount to the total. Lucky for me, they don't do that. Then 104 times a year they go to the kingdom hall. Even though the hall is nearby that's still about 1,000 miles/year or about another $600.00. The cost for an average family can easily climb to, and exceed $2,000/year once you consider the extra suits for men and dresses for women.

  Governing body:

  Please bring the cult to my living room. I can save those 2,000 dollar and use them for better things.

  on our local needs part tonight, the elder (on the local ldc), conducting the part, said he just got back from a meeting in memphis tn with members from the us branch rdc conducting the meeting.

  they mentioned that only 6 new kingdom halls and 2 major re-models were completed in 2016.

  "it may seem like a small accomplishment, considering under the old rbc arrangement there was some 700 projects on the average each year being done", "but, this is going 5-10 years of training to kick this new program into optima production".

  My Dad wants to study with me

  so my parents continue to pester me about getting baptized.

  the other day my dad told me that i was old enough to make a decision, and was wondering why i wasn't ready (assembly is in a few weeks) so i told him calmly that i have many doubts and if i were to get baptized it has to be 100 percent my idea.

  he was a little annoyed by this, and now wants to study the "is there a creator that cares about you" book (which is complete bs) with me.

  Time to challenge your Dad. Take the study, but always prepare tough questions in advance. Come to the forum and get advice regarding those questions. Always be respectful and subtle, and don't make it obvious that you are visiting apostate sites. This may end up being the solution to your problems. Freedom may lie ahead, after few tough questions to your Dad.

  Same as before, he destroys humanity and starts a new game. It's like when playing a chess game, the losing player prevents his/her embarrassing defeat by throwing the chess board and all the pieces to the floor. Jehovah can't lose!

  a circuit overseer friend of mine serving in latin america called me today to say hi.

  i asked him what's new and he dropped the news that they have received notification that the branch in mexico will be closing!!

  this branch also called the central american branch (although located in mexico) oversees all of mexico's 800,000+ publishers plus all 7 countries of central america of over 100,000 publishers.

  romans 13 : 1-7 "let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities" etc,"the existing authourities stand placed in their relative positions by god" 2".therefore he who opposers the authourity has taken a stand against the arrangement of god ,those who have taken a stand against it will recieve judgement to themselves "etc,etc,.."..to him who calls for honour such honour.".

  isnt this plainly stating that christians should be supporting and playing along with the governments of this sytem of things ?

  ...because Jehovah realized that he has been doing a lousy job; read the old testament. So he figured it couldn't get any worse if Satan took the reins, and Jehovah was right, things have gotten much better since he stepped aside.

  I wouldn't pursue a long term relationship with someone that goes to bed with the first guy available, especially if she tells you that she doesn't know why she is attracted to you. Her libido is fine, even desirable; her brain, or rather her emotional stability, is not.

  If this story did happen, just move on. There's better avenues to meet the girl of your dreams. Pursue your hobbies and go to places where people with similar interest go. That's where you are more likely to find a reliable match for you.

  By the way, get rid of that stupid idea " girls use us". They don't use us more than we use them. Or males use other males, or females use other females, etc, etc. If you feel used in general, then there's a problem with your self esteem. In a way, you and the girl of the story, in a very ironic way, are a match. You both have some problems.
